In der Ausstellung „Movement Shapes the Distance, Distance Shapes the Present" zeigt die Knoll Galerie Wien die aktuelle Serie abstrakter Gemälde der slowakischen Künstlerin Ludmila Hrachovinová (geb. 1984).

In ihren Kunstwerken hinterfragt Hrachovinová das Medium Malerei und setzt es in verschiedene interaktive und performative Positionen. Die Künstlerin schafft ungewöhnliche Positionen für die Kunstwerke und stellt die im Medium der Malerei und ihrer Tradition eingeschriebenen Normen infrage.

Der Betrachter spielt eine aktive Rolle in diesem Prozess der Dekonstruktion und Herausforderung vertrauter Vorstellungen, die dem Medium Malerei eingeschrieben sind. Mit der Interaktion des Betrachters werden die performativen Installationen komplett. Ludmila Hrachovinová kann als eine Puppenspielerin betrachtet werden, die sehr weise mit den Beobachtern und dem Ausstellungsraum spielt. Sie schafft für ihre Gemälde Positionen im Raum, die den gewohnten Fluss des Raumes behindern und den Betrachter mit verschiedenen Körperbewegungen interagieren lassen, um die Gemälde in ihrer Gesamtheit zu sehen und zu verstehen.

Die dargestellten abstrakten Formen und Elemente sind oft in der leichten Spannung zwischen Bewegung und Stillstand. Hrachovinovás Absicht ist die Beziehung zwischen diesen Elementen zu untersuchen, eine Spannung zwischen ihnen zu erzeugen und gleichzeitig die Lösung dieser Spannung im Ausstellungsraum im körperlichen Verhältnis zwischen Beobachter und Bilder zu fördern.
